Rodney Beckwith

General Manager Sebastopol Bowling Club

Rodney has a vast history in the hospitality industry, having managed several hotels and sporting clubs. One of Rod’s major strengths is gaming. Rod also managed a South Australian venue that owned its gaming machines, making Rod a valuable resource throughout transition.

For the past 11 years Rod has been General Manager of the Sebastopol Bowls Club. This experience has given Rod a great understanding of the way boards and committees work, which he believes has allowed him to assist Mercury to bring great benefits to its members. Rod has served as Vice President on the Mercury Board since 2011.

Glenn Carroll

General Manager Horsham Sports & Community Club

Glenn is a hospitality professional with 24 years of experience in the industry, working in various sized venues, which has allowed him to gain extensive experience in the complexities of how venues operate. Currently, Glenn is the General Manager of the Horsham Sports and Community Club.

Glenn has a proven track record of exceeding budget expectations and motivating teams to perform at a consistently high level. Glenn has served on the Mercury Board since 2011 as Treasurer and with his lead by example attitude Glenn has always been focused on providing the Mercury members with further benefits.

David Thompson

General Manager - Deer Park Club

David has extensive experience in the Hospitality Industry and in particular the Club sector. Having over 20 years of experience in Club Management David is the General Manager of the Deer Park Club having taken on the role in 2013.

David has been at the helm of the Club through one of the most exciting periods in the clubs history overseeing an extensive renovation program and increase in the clubs gaming entitlements. David brings to the Mercury Board strong financial management skills and a desire to provide the best service & support to all Mercury members.

Philip Dentith

General Manager, Moonee Ponds Club

Philip Dentith brings over 30 years of experience to the Board in both retail and hospitality for iconic groups, achieving several state and national awards for community service, customer service and performance.  In 2013 Philip became General Manager of the Moonee Ponds Club and joined the Mercury Board in 2022.

Philip has a Bachelor of Business in accounting, and was president of the Lower Plenty Traders Association for over five years. He is currently on the CCV advisory council for TAB and Keno.

During his time at the Moonee Ponds Club, Philip has overseen the writing of the Club’s first Book, “125 years of the Moonee Ponds Club”, and undertaken renovations while ensuring the Club traded profitably throughout his time as General Manager. He successfully steered the Moonee Ponds Club through COVID, and under Philip’s Management, the Club has a clear vision for the future and will commence further upgrades in the coming years.

Nick McIntyre

General Manager, Whittlesea Bowls Club

Nick has been Employed at the Whittlesea Bowls Club for the past 6 years and was appointed General Manager in 2018. He oversaw the large redevelopment of the Club through COVID, adding function rooms and other club amenities doubling the workforce at the Club.

Prior to the Whittlesea Bowls Club, Nick worked for 6 years within the RSL network and has previously managed other Bowls Clubs. Nick grew up in club land playing Lawn Bowls from the age of 10 and playing for Victoria on over 200 occasions. He is currently on the Bowls Victoria Selection Committee and has been on many committees over the years. Nick is also a member of the Community Clubs Victoria Wagering and Keno Advisory Council.
