Rodney Beckwith

Current position: General Manager Sebastopol Bowling Club

Rodney has a vast history in the hospitality industry, having managed several hotels and sporting clubs. One of Rod’s major strengths is gaming. Rod also managed a South Australian venue that owned its gaming machines, making Rod a valuable resource throughout transition. For the past 11 years Rod has been General Manager of the Sebastopol Bowls Club. This experience has given Rod a great understanding of the way boards and committees work, which he believes has allowed him to assist Mercury to bring great benefits to its members. Rod has served as Vice President on the Mercury Board since 2011.

Glenn Carroll

Current position: General Manager Horsham Sports & Community Club

Glenn is a hospitality professional with 24 years of experience in the industry, working in various sized venues, which has allowed him to gain extensive experience in the complexities of how venues operate. Currently, Glenn is the General Manager of the Horsham Sports and Community Club. Glenn has a proven track record of exceeding budget expectations and motivating teams to perform at a consistently high level. Glenn has served on the Mercury Board since 2011 as Treasurer and with his lead by example attitude Glenn has always been focused on providing the Mercury members with further benefits.

Mick Streiff

Vice President
Current position: General Manager Broadmeadows Sporting Club

Mick has been the General Manager of the Broadmeadows Sporting Club for the past 10 years and also has extensive board experience. Previously to his appointment as GM, Mick was the elected Treasurer and a Board Member of the club for over 10 years. Mick has a strong financial background and was previously a Bank Manager with the Commonwealth Bank for over 20 years. He brings board, venue management and financial expertise to Mercury. Mick has been successful in steering the Broadmeadows Sporting Club through transition, undertaking a renovation and ensuring that the venue is trading profitably. The club is in stable financial position and looking at further improvements and acquisitions. Mick has also been actively involved in local community sporting clubs as a player, volunteer, and committee member. Mick is a life member and has been given legend status of the Roxburgh Park Broadmeadows Cricket Club for his contributions to the club. Mick is also activity involved in the Sunbury Kangaroos Junior Football Club.

Simon Giles

Current position: President Hoppers Crossing Sports Club

Simon has been involved in sporting clubs for 40 years, starting out as an 11 year old with the Colac Cricket Club, playing at a number a country cricket & football clubs, before settling in Hoppers Crossing in 1992. An opportunity arose in season 1993/94 to join the HCCC committee resulting in a 21 year term as Vice President. Simon joined the board of directors of the Hoppers Crossing Sports Club in 2004 becoming Secretary in 2006, given the gaming portfolio in 2009 and in 2016 elected President. A seasoned, dedicated & respected administrator, Simon has an affinity with sporting clubs and brings a unique set of skills to the table.

Jenny Smith

Current position: General Manager, The Warragul Club

Jenny has been in the hospitality industry for the past 16 years, in both hotels and clubs. Jenny has had vast experience in NSW Venues before relocating south to Gippsland, to take on the position of General Manager of the Warragul Sports & Social Club. Jenny has been at the Club since 2012, where she has been able to make a real influence on the business, particularly within the gaming area. With a strong understanding of administration and Jenny’s loyalty experience within the NSW market, she is an integral part of the Mercury Board since her appointment in 2014.
